EAL: tradition and excellence in Angolan graphic arts

Edições de Angola Lda was founded on 26 June 1953 and began its journey in the Angolan printing market. On 17 April 1969 the company was acquired in full by one of its partners, Silvino Norberto, opening a new chapter in its history. From 1985 his son, Carlos Arques Santos, took over as Managing Partner — a position he still holds — ensuring continuity and strategic vision.

In a market as dynamic as Angola’s, which demands rapid adaptation, Edições de Angola has established itself as one of the largest national companies in the graphic arts sector. Our success comes from the harmony of four fundamental pillars: premises, machinery, people and the company–client relationship.

History

Our pillars of success

01

Space and infrastructure

Optimising our space, distributing equipment efficiently and keeping our people mobile receive constant attention, ensuring a continuous and effective workflow.

02

Leading technology and global recognition

Equipped with the most modern machinery on the international market, Edições de Angola delivers outstanding quality. Our commitment to excellence has been recognised with 8 international BID (Business Initiative Directions) awards, 2 international OTHERWAYS (Association Otherways Management & Consulting) awards, an eBIZguides diploma, 2 FILDA Lions and an EFA (Made in Angola) award, among many others. Together with those of SILNOR, also part of the group, that makes 14 listed awards — clear evidence of what EAL has achieved.

03

Human capital and continuous training

We devote substantial attention to our people, their training and how they engage with the natural dynamics of our work. We believe people are the active element of the whole structure, so we provide demanding in-house training that matches the equipment they operate.

04

Personal relationships and a vision for the future

The nature of our work calls for a personal approach, which we cultivate and which has won our clients’ preference. We aim to anticipate the market’s growing needs, because staying one step ahead is how we rise to every challenge. As part of this great country, Edições de Angola lived through the hardships Angola faced; what matters now is to look ahead with optimism and determination.

05

A broad product range serving the national market

We produce everything from magazines and notepads to posters, books and cardboard boxes. We serve virtually every branding agency and design studio in Angola, and we are honoured to count the Angolan Government among our clients.

Growth and the future

Our work raises the level of quality already achieved in the country and removes the need to import printed products. Today the Angolan market can rely on products that match the best on the international market. For us, quality is an unequivocal principle, one we pass on to our trainees from day one.

We move steadily into the future and see our company grow every year. Oil and mining drive the Angolan economy, and we keep pace as every sector grows. That pressure has pushed us to modernise and follow international developments. The global graphic arts market constantly brings new products within our reach, keeping us at the forefront of innovation.

Quality

For us, quality is an unequivocal principle.
